GoBe X rhubarb studios
GoBe was on a mission to create a web application that helped caseworkers collaborate with volunteers in order to gather donations for the “Home for Good” initiative in the City of Los Angeles. As a design researcher in residence at rhubarb studios, a venture capital studio helping tech startups go from angel to series A funding, I planned and executed a research plan and worked alongside UX Designers, Software Developers and Product Owners for the initial build of the Gobe Product. I also designed and created a living tool for future GoBe product team members that was made to build empathy by house them in the mindsets of target users.

Process
User Research <> Prototyping <> Usability Testing <> Empathy Tool Design
User Research
I crafted and executed a design research plan that involved performing ethnographic interviews with various defined users, including caseworkers, city officials, and resident volunteers. I then synthesized the collected data into design insights through mind mapping and other design tools, looping in UX Designers, Product Owners and Software Developers to build empathy.
Prototyping and Usability Testing
I lead prototyping sessions with UX Designers and targeted users. These prototypes were then put in front of users in order to test their efficacy in the livestream through particular prototype testing. This work then informed the actual web application build
Empathy Tool Design
I worked on creating an empathy tool that would house GoBe employees in understanding of the values and needs of primary stakeholders. This tool includes infographics that define the ecosystem of the stakeholders and personal journey maps of various personas.
